So much for trying to stay consistent with my blog posts! This here is my Brandon Yip autographed 10/11 Contenders card, which I believe I picked up back in 2012 through ebay. Brandon obviously is one of only a handful of Asians currently playing in the NHL, and will hopefully help pave the way for other ethnic groups hoping to make it to the big leagues.

A great autograph from a box set which I had opened up called Between the Pipes (one of my favorite boxes!). I pulled out this Semyon Varlamov autograph, which I'm quite pleased about. The next few posts will be the cards that I hit when opening this box!

Next up is Paul Stastny! This was quite a surprise to pull out as this is a serialized 31/100 card which is signed and has a auto patch. The way the scanner scanned the card, it looks a tad greenish, but the green is a holographic type material. Paul is a player whom plays for the Colorado Avalanche and has family ties to the NHL as his father, Peter, played in the NHL as well.

Milan Hejduk is the alternate captain for the Colorado Avalanche. He was drafted by the Quebec Nordiques, but has played for the Quebec/Colorado franchise his entire career. This past season, Milan had decided that he will extend his contract for 1 year, which will see him play through the 11/12 season in the NHL. Great job Milan!

Another sweet autograph by Alex Tanguay. I bought this card from a card shop (obviously unsigned), but really looked forward to getting it signed. I've gotten an auto from Alex before, but really liked the layout of this card. Thanks Alex, and good luck next season!

Wow! A total of 9 days for Craig Anderson from the Senators. I've sent two previous requests via the Avalanche, and I haven't received them (and probably will never get them back). Craig has been great for Ottawa, but most likely won't be being able to get into the playoffs this year. Maybe a 1st round draft pick?

Matt Duchene, currently tied for 1st on the Avalanche's scoring list and 1st on the team in goals. Matt is a great young player that will help this Avalanche team back into a playoff spot (obviously not this year). Matt was one of the two players I managed to get autographs from. Thank you very much Matt, for making my hounding session not a complete waste!

Blah! I missed a large portion of the Colorado Avalanche as I had gotten to the hotel about 10 - 15 minutes too late. Luckily, I was there for the second bus which only consisted of a few players that I had cards for. One of them was David Jones. Currently, David is ranked 5th on the Avalanche's scoring list.
